The brief for this garden was to create a functional space as the customers were keen growers and wanted to include several features to facilitate their green-fingered passions. Furthermore, they also wanted an aesthetically pleasing design with a large patio area for al fresco dining and entertaining.
They had inherited the garden from the previous owners who, despite their best efforts, had left the garden in a neglected state of disrepair. Firstly, we overcame the issue of a considerable slope by elevating the patio and levelling the area below. The design of the patio included a large quadrant with a circle feature outside the patio doors. Cutting into the paving we placed a kidney-shaped, a raised bed which was the first and most dominant of several raised beds throughout the garden.
The functional aspects of the garden were placed in the lower half. These included two raised vegetable beds, a greenhouse, and a potting shed. Separating this functional area from the recreational area was a long, curved, decorative planter which mirrored the shape of the patio. This planter contained tall trellis screening to achieve this separation.
Great guys who provide a great service with a great result. K. Sandham
